Due to Covid-19 restrictions in 2020, Our Lady of Sorrows began to use the Family of Faith catechism program from Sophia Institute. It has the flexibility ot be entirely home-based and taught by parents or be taught at organized CCD classes with some activities done at home to strengthen the faith at home and to help parents in their rightful role as their children's primary teachers and examples of the faith. To learn more about Family of Faith, please visit Sophia Institute's website {click here}.
Many adults went through Catechism classes as children, especially in preparation for First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Important lessons of the faith are often forgotten over time, so when it comes to teaching the faith to our own children, we feel inadequate and unprepared, especially when they ask tough questions. In these video tutorials, Father Rob gives brief overviews of some of the important theology contained in each lesson so that parents will (hopefully) feel a little more at ease in their role of teaching the faith. Start with the tutorials on how to navigage through your Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Please do not hesitate to ask questions in the comment sections if something is unclear.
